Archives of Siraiki Cultural and Political History in Pakistan

This planning project aims to identify and build a new collection focused on 20th and 21st-century cultural (folk, literary, Sufi expressions) and political materials suppressed through state rhetoric. We aim to bring together materials held in personal collections by various individuals/ private libraries across twenty-three districts of South Punjab (Pakistan). The project will evaluate, assess, and create an open-access inventory. Based on the context for the demand for a Siraiki/Siraikistan province this project voices the marginality of a nation (Siraiki) within a nation (Pakistan).
